As an artist, one has to be mindful and vigilant about the inspiration put forth by the elements themselves. Each gesture transforms the painting and thus painting and painter become one and the same. By the same token I try to invite chance, tease and challenge it, hoping that I will create a favourable environment for chance to reveal itself. This is the way, I believe, to create the flow of soul between gesture and matter.
